Fast Track to sell Glasgow 2014 International broadcast rights
The organising committee for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games has appointed the Fast Track agency to sell its international broadcast rights.
The key areas of focus will be Commonwealth nations in Asia, as well as Africa and New Zealand but a statement added that Fast Track would be ‘exploring non-Commonwealth Games territories’.
With two years to go Glasgow 2014 has two broadcast agreements in place, with the BBC in the host country and Network Ten in Australia.
“Maximising the opportunity of Glasgow 2014’s international broadcast rights is a critical success factor in terms of ensuring as many people as possible across the world can share the experience of an outstanding Commonwealth Games in Scotland and the sporting achievements of thousands of great athletes from across the world,” said Glasgow 2014 chief executive David Grevemberg.
Fast Track’s sales process will be managed by Richard Russell, who said: “Glasgow 2014 will be the third consecutive Commonwealth Games that Fast Track has represented and we look forward to the challenge of building on the record income and distribution levels we achieved for Melbourne in 2006 and Delhi in 2010.”
