The Aviator – Wednesday 19 September 2012 7pm WAT | Studio Universal PG

Howard Hughes led a remarkable life. The son of a wealthy family, Hughes was not content to sit back on his wealth; rather, he was driven by a fierce sense of competition and a burning desire to pursue the dream of human flight.

The movie follows Hughes at different periods of his life, chronicling his quixotic stint as a Hollywood director, his tenuous, borderline insane aviation ventures and his tumultuous romances with some of Hollywood’s hottest stars.

Tragically, the movie also offers an unflinching depiction of the mental illness which was to prove Hughes ultimate downfall.
