New six-part documentary ‘Being Liverpool’ premieres this Friday on SuperSport

SuperSport has secured exclusive rights to Being Liverpool, a dramatic six-part documentary on one of the world’s great sporting institutions with a huge global fan base.

Being Liverpool is described as a revolutionary behind-the-scenes documentary where Fox Sports was granted unprecedented fly-on-the-wall access to the inner workings of the club.

It is narrated by Academy Award nominee (and Liverpool supporter) Clive Owen and produced by Emmy Award winner Scott Boggins.

Filming started in May, before last season’s FA Cup final, and finished at the close of the transfer window in August.

The first episode, titled Silver Shovel in reference to one of coach Brandon Rodgers’ quotes, deals with Kenny Dalglish being sacked and Rodgers being appointed.

A recent sneak preview showed Rodgers giving young star Raheem Sterling a dressing down for answering back when he was addressing players during their pre-season tour in Boston, threatening Sterling that he would be “on the first plane back” if he interrupted him again.

It promises to be a riveting series with unprecedented access to one of the giants of world football.

The show will premiere at 6pm WAT on Friday (SS3, SS10 and HD2), with subsequent shows filling the same slot weekly.
