The noise, the hype, city storm and taking over the social media space to announce the start of season III of the show paid off with the large turnout experienced in Abuja today. Early as 7:00am while the crew were still putting final checks to equipments and ensuring proper paper work is done, Idol hopefuls had already taken over the lobby of Rockview Hotel, venue of the audition.  It really confirmed the reception of the biggest singing reality format by the Nigerian youths.

No time wasting as audition commenced earnestly.  It is as usual; a scenario of the good, the bad, and the ones you wished didn’t turn up for auditions. Some contestants were outstanding while some were plainly living in dreamland.  In all fairness, Nigerian should watch out, top contestants on the show might emerge from the city of Abuja.

Entertainment was on point as various artistes came on to dish out thier numbers. Kay Switch took over the entire auditorium with his performance. His hit track ‘Sisi Caro’ got a lot of ladies twisting and winding while the guys were unrepentantly joyous.

Talking about familiar faces, oh yes! Some old faces did come back on the show and if you are eager to know who they are, follow closely to watch once broadcast commences.  Okay, Sly One; you remember him? He was among the top finalists on season II and he came back firing on all cylinders. How far he would go this season is what Nigerians, lovers and fans of the show should watch to see.

Illrymz the show presenter for the second time is really feeling the love on the show. Contestants warmed up to him and with him, there is no dulling moment. Personally, he is adding spice to the show this season.  A lot of behind the scene gist and rewarding initiatives are part of what he promises to bring on.

Femi Kuti joins the show! He is the new addition to the Nigerian Idol family and we can authoritatively say he is bringing something new on the show.

In all, it can be said that Abuja came blazing hot and the show is definitely better and bigger this season.
