Nigeria’s Got Talent: Episode 6 (Top 50 Selection)

So far, it’s been a hectic but fun journey all the way as our judges and crew members went in search of raw talent that would take not only Nigeria but also the world by storm.

We’ve seen acts from auditions done in the major buzzing cities round Nigeria; you must agree that Nigeria really has got talent – from fire eaters to roller skaters, the platform is just the right to fish these talents out. This culling episode somewhat served as a reminder of acts previously seen. However, it also showed us how our judges, Kate, Dan and Yibo, exercised their powers in picking the Top 50 acts from the lot who got more than one yes that saw them through to the next round.

Ibadan city auditions introduced us to 11yr old singer Toke Salami and 49yr old Stephen Faunwei a magician. Port Harcourt, Warri, Enugu, also proved they had a lot to offer in terms of showcasing raw talent with the likes of Mc PinCode representing Warri, Lady D representing Enugu (but didn’t make the cut). Let’s not forget to mention Lagos the centre of excellence which produced the likes of a ventriloquist, a solo singer, rapper and a fire eater. Benin, Abuja and Calabar were not left out in the talent hunt. Code Red, a dance group brought on the heat in Benin City auditions and little Amarachi caught everyone’s attention with her solo dance moves. Remember the two adult males who dressed up and acted as babies? Adult Babies is the name of the duo. Their rib cracking audition is one that won’t be forgotten in a hurry.

Our judges had the tasking job of sieving through the pool of talents. To make the job easier, they made selections in different categories – singers, dancers, musicians. There were moments were they disagreed on who was worthy of going through to the semi-finals and who was not. For those picked, they are a step closer to the prize while those who were unlucky would have to brace up and improve of improving their skills/talents.

The semi-final round kicks off next week. In this round, viewers will have the power to vote and save their favourite contestant weekly. You don’t want to miss the action and fun as everyone is ready to up their game in the quest of becoming the first ever Nigeria’s Got Talent winner.
