Gulder Ultimate Search Season 9: Episode 12 (Marriage Under Jungle Matrimony Law)

Theirs may not be a match made in heaven, but it was a marriage consummated in the Usaka Jungle. It all started when Priscillia openly professed her affection for Ifet. Onyinye raised an alarm after claiming Ifet smiled when Priscillia wooed him.

As Head Warrior, Uzor intervened by playing Cupid, thereby stoking the romantic fire. She declared her readiness to ‘join’ both of them as man and wife, if it was their wish. Before Ifet could accept or reject Priscillia’s decent proposal, Onyinye and Patience brought out two wrappers to serve as the bride’s veil and flowing gown. With Paschal as Best Man and Patience as Officiating Minister, Priscillia took Ifet as her lawfully wedded jungle husband (since she proposed to him anyway).

But by evening, ‘newly wedded’ Priscillia refused to share her meal with Ifet. She openly denied him. So much for jungle marriage!

For the day’s challenge, the contenders were required to stand at equal distances from themselves and climb two suspension ropes fastened to two different trees. Once a contender catches up with another, they are tapped out of the game till a winner emerges. According to Chidi Mokeme, the Anchor man, the winner’s reward will be exemption from punishment, should either the contender or his team lose in the next challenge.

The consequence for the loser would be starting either later, should the next game be based on time; or further behind if the next task was based on distance.

Nuhu won the game and became Head Warrior till the next challenge. Onyinye lost and would have to suffer the consequences at the next challenge.

Chidi Mokeme was not particularly pleased with their performance and questioned their physical fitness. He then declared that all contenders have to undergo an hour of physical exercises every morning; co-ordinated by the reigning Head Warrior or whoever he/she chooses to conduct the exercise.
