Channel Oh what a weekend! as CHOMVA 2012 and the American Music Awards air live!

With voting now closed and the 9th Annual Channel O Music Video Awards winners being tallied, the action starts early on Saturday 17, November when V- Entertainment runs the red carpet LIVE from 5pm WAT on Channel O channel 320.

Hosted by Lalla and Dineo, V-Entertainment will bring all the glitz, the glamour, and thrills of the build-up to the 9th Annual Channel O Music Video Awards to viewers – setting the scene for a superb night’s entertainment to come!

Then it is the moment of truth for the nominees in the 14 categories when the show goes live at 20:00 – Will Kenya’s hip hop group Camp Mulla live up to the expectations created by being a leading nominee? Or will Khuli Chana dominate proceedings in 2012? With the cream of the crop in the running this year, only one thing’s for sure at this stage: the best and most original music from across the African continent will be celebrated on Saturday 17, November!

South Africa’s It Girl, Bonang Matheba, and Nigerian superstar Ice Prince are the hosts with the suss and skills to take it to the next level when the 9th Annual Channel O Music Awards ceremony gets underway at Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown, Soweto.

Adding huge impact to an already star-packed awards event are the live performers – including MA-E of Teargas fame, Botswana rapper Zeus, Nigeria’s Ice Prince and Mo Cheddah. Khuli Chana, Camp Mulla, Nigeria’s Davido, Ghana’s M.anifest, and South Africans Black Motion, Mi Casa, DJ Zinhle, Bucie, Alaska, Thebe, and Dr Malinga and many more!

Making a special appearance is this year’s Special Recognition recipient, Oskido as well as the Grammy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir.

The excitement continues well after that, with the exclusive live broadcast of the 40th Annual American Music Awards in the early hours of Monday 19, November at 2am WAT.
