MTN Nigeria Mobile TV Service: FAQ
Mobile TV is a bouquet of Mobile TV services that will allow subscribers stream a range of both live TV channels and “made for Mobile” video streaming content on their data enabled handsets and devices. This service will be provided by MTN in conjunction with mobile TV platform and mobile TV content providers.
Only subscribers with data enabled handsets and tablets will be eligible for this service. MTNN will allow eligible subscribers activate this capability using their WAP browser on their mobile device, by either accessing the Mobile TV packages via the MTN Play Portal, or by typing in the address of the MTN Mobile TV service of choice.
The service will provide target market designed, familiar/exclusive/popular/relevant bouquets from which the subscriber may choose from, and will give MTN customers a new “on-the-go” lifestyle experience. There will be no significant device restrictions or additional device requirements for the customer to enjoy the MTN Mobile TV service.

Question: What is MTN Mobile TV?
Answer:
- It is a mobile TV service where customers can watch live TV streaming on their Mobile devices on the go.
Question: Who can access this service?
Answer:
- All MTN Customers with a compatible 3G/EDGE/GPRS capable handset/device within data network coverage areas.
Question: What are the benefits?
Answer:
- Customers will be able to subscribe to one or more Mobile TV bouquets, each of which will include several channels
- Customers will stream 1 channel at a time from the subscribed bouquet
- Navigate from one channel to the other in the subscribed bouquet
- Experience and form a Mobile TV lifestyle
- Customers can unsubscribe from the service
Question: Does the Mobile TV service require special types of Handset?
Answer:
- The MTN Mobile TV is available to all users of Smart phones; Blackberry, Android and Nokia and iPhone.
I.e. the service will not be available on non-data enabled devices.
Question: How do I access the service?
Answer:
- You can access the service via MTN Play WAP or Mobile TV URL on your mobile device.
- You can also SMS keyword “Mobile TV” to short code 5600 to get the link to the Mobile TV portal. The link is: www.mtnonline.com/imoovtv
- Call 180 if you are still in need of assistance.
Question: What contents are available on the Mobile TV service?
Answer:
- The Content will be packaged as stated below:
- A total of 20 channels will be made available on commercial launch under Telecom Channel West Africa’s offering.
- You will be able to construct your own bouquet (Pick & Mix) to suit your ‘on the go’ lifestyle according to package costs. See table 1 below
Question: What are the charges like when I access the service?
Answer:
- MTN Mobile TV service will come in Weekly/Monthly subscription packages for the different bouquets available.
- You will be charged for the Mobile TV plan only after completing your purchase.
- However, please note that you will pay for data usage for browsing Mobile TV portal. You will not be able to stream Mobile TV
without a data plan i.e. no pay as you go rate. - If you are a prepaid or e-post-paid customer, the subscription charge will be deducted from your airtime while the charge for Post-paid customers will be added to their bills.
