Nigeria’s Got Talent: Top 10 Finalists Perform

For every beginning, there must be an end. Such is the case on the show as we get closer to crowning the first ever winner of Nigeria’s Got Talent. Thanks to your votes, the top ten finalists emerged on the show and each contestant has just one shot to prove to Nigerians and fans of the show that his or her act is worth ten million naira.

Chuka the rapper was the first finalist to open the show. As expected he performed an original composed rap with flair and flavour which was what made the judges save him in the semifinals stage. After his performance, the judges gave their comments with Yibo saying he liked his rhythm and delivery. Next up was Dr. Bariyu the ventriloquist whose act is not complete without his puppet dog. He kicked off his performance on a low note but eventually got the audience and the judges to laugh. Kate was first to comment on his performance saying it was very well put together and she liked Dog’s swag. Dan on the other hand said his performance was not as good as his last – he expected more.

Impulse acapella group was the third act to take their final shot on stage. They performed a rendition of Iyanya’s hit single ‘Kukere’. Impulse didn’t bring their A-game compared to what they showcased in the semifinals and trust our judges to notice this. Yibo was very blunt with his comment saying the performance didn’t move him and was not worth the grand prize while Dan added that Impulse lacked power.

It was Amarachi’s turn to strut her stuff. She gave us a surprise intro as she played a few notes on a violin before she moved on to her main act which is dancing. Amarachi danced showed us she is a versatile dancer as she changed dance steps from salsa to Nigerian dance and lastly break dance. Our judges rained praises for being consistent and creative throughout the competition.

Xpendables dance group were up next as the fifth act. This dance group is known for its agility and creativity. Although they kicked off their performance on a high note, they ended poorly. In Kate’s words, they brought the roof down but for the little hitch they had at the end of their performance, it would have been excellent. Toke the 11 year old singer from Ibadan performed right after the Xpendables. Sadly, her performance was below par and our judges didn’t go easy on her with their comments. Yibo said her performance was okay but she needs to work on her voice. Dan also passed the same comment stressing the point that there was need for her to work on her voice.

Jesse and his partner Oghonmwen paired up to dance and delivered a beautiful performance worthy of encouraging comments by Kate although Yibo did not see the performance worthy of winning the grand prize. Remember, the judges have no say in who wins, your votes decide.

Nathaniel aka DJ Mouth was the eighth finalist to perform. His beatbox skills wowed the judges yet again. Kate said he gave his all and restored hope after the other contestants failed to impress. Boniface was up next. He pulled off his contemporary dance performance. Yibo said he was fantastic and his dance was well put together. Dan added that he was happy to see him grow and wished him well. Last but not least to close the show was Ogechukwu Godwin the violinist. Godwin put up a great performance with his renditions of DJ Khaled’s ‘All I do is win’, P-Square’s latest hit song ‘Alingo’ and 2face’s ‘Ihe ne me’. After his act, Kate gave him a standing ovation while Yibo simply congratulated him in advance.
