DStv launches VoxAfrica channel!

DStv audiences in East, West and Central Africa received a wonderful festive season surprise as the dynamic Afro-centric TV channel VoxAfrica launched on Tuesday, 4 December on channel 191.

The channel is available on the DStv Access, Family, Compact, Compact Plus (where available) and Premium bouquets.

Focused on putting the African continent and its talented and diverse peoples at the heart of its line-up, VoxAfrica includes news, commerce, sports, music, movies, sitcoms and lifestyle series.

Among the key programmes that audiences should look out for are: the twice daily London produced news program Vox News, the culture and entertainment round-up Afrobuzz, the action packed Sports 360 and the powerful female panel show Ladies Talk.

Other programming on the VoxAfrica channel, which draws its inspiration and content from African communities both at home and in the diaspora, includes Hot SeatWahalaClinic MattersAbiba and America Confidential.

Commenting on the highlight announcement, MultiChoice Africa CEO Nico Meyer re-iterated that DStv is proudly and passionately African.

“As an African company and a champion of quality African programming, we are very pleased that DStv is bringing our subscribers so much more entertainment during the festive season.

We are always committed to ensuring that, where possible, we partner with others who share our positive vision for the continent. VoxAfrica has actively worked to showcase and reflect the power and promise of Africa so we’re confident that this channel will provide our subscribers with more choice and a wide range of great African viewing.”

Also commenting on the exciting news was VoxAfrica General Manager Rodney Borde-Kuofie who said: “Launching VoxAfrica English on DStv is a momentous step in the growth of VoxAfrica’s TV network. It completes our vision of being the first truly pan-African and bilingual TV network for Africans and its diaspora communities.”

Meanwhile, the launch of VoxAfrica onto the DStv platform is the latest addition made by Africa’s leading pay television company to ensure that its digital satellite products remain relevant and compelling. The inclusion of VoxAfrica follows the recent launch of the popular martial arts channel BlackBelt TV.

And with 2012 drawing to a close, DStv audiences can reflect on a memorable year that included the landmark 2012 London Olympics, the action packed Euro 2012 tournament, the highly anticipated US Election and much more! Now as 2012 draws to a close, the launch of the 24/7 VoxAfrica channel brings with it fantastic new Afrocentric programming for audiences to enjoy.
