PriceCheck officially launches in Nigeria
PriceCheck, a comparison shopping engine based in South Africa today unveiled their service to Nigerian users.
You may wonder what a comparison shopping engine is. It is an eCommerce business that provides users with a way to compare prices and products while they are making a purchasing decision. After making a decision, users then go to the online shop by means of clicking on the offer and then they can buy the product at the online shop they have chosen.
Comparison shopping provides users with the platform to make a decision based on their needs and requirements. The power has shifted to online and mobile commerce to ensure that users are in a position to purchase their desired product.
PriceCheck has a variety of categories from Books, Cellphones and Electronics to items for Home & Garden usage. Clothing for Men and Women plus shoes is also available for users to browse and make a purchase from their favourite online store by clicking on the offer. All of the categories can be found here.
So how do I use PriceCheck?
- You can do a search via the textbox at the top of the page. Simply put the keyword/s in the box and then click on the search button. It as simple as that.
- A search result is then generated. You can click on the products and then browse the specific product.
- On the product page – Offers are found that you can click on and you will be transferred to the shop from which you can purchase products from.
Users that create profiles can write product and shop reviews to assist other online shoppers with their product purchase. Registered users can also create price alerts that will keep them informed of a price decrease for their desired product.
Users can also do searches for flights and then make a booking via a third party service for that trip that you have always wanted.
We welcome any feedback – simply use our “contact us” facility. Shop owners who want to list their products on PriceCheck can please contact sales@pricecheck.com.ng.

In my opinion Ngpricehunter.com beats this pricecheck. I have visited both of them and Ngpricehunter.com have more products and better deal. I hope Pricecheck will improve over time.

Pricecheck now clearly beats all other price comparison sites in Nigeria with a much better GUI, a lot more products (especially mobile phones and electronics) and many more shops. 6 months have really made a difference!
