Nokia unveils new Asha 310 with dual-SIM and WiFi interoperability, available for 16,116 naira

Nokia has added a new model to its popular Asha smartphone line, today announcing the launch of the Asha 310, its first dual-SIM handset to offer users the chance to switch between two SIMs and a Wi-Fi connection.

Nokia’s latest Touch device offers a 3-inch WQVGA display, a 2-megapixel camera, 20MB internal memory (with support for up to 32GB MicroSD cards, although 2GB and 4GB cards will be included in selected markets), Bluetooth 3.0 and provides up to 25 days standby, with a reported 17 hours of talk time.

The device is angled at users with a need to stay connected at all times, offering not only the option to swap between SIMs but to offset data use by connecting to nearby wireless access points. Nokia offers 40 free EA games, its data-saving Nokia Xpress browser and a variety of social apps on the Asha 310 as standard, pricing the handset at a respectable $102.

Last month, the Finnish smartphone maker announced 9.3 million Asha handset sales in its fourth fiscal quarter, with the range now comprising of 15 handsets.

Nokia says the Asha 310 will go on sale in Asia, India, the Middle East, Africa and Brazil later in the first quarter, and will come in black, white and golden light.
