mda ep19

Janell Burgess, the only female judge in the MDA academy, made a rather surprising entry by introducing the show. She welcomed the audience in a creative way to add spice to the show in place of the hostess, Osas Ighodaro. And what a twist it turned out to be as Janell showed the stuff she’s made of and earned herself a standing ovation from the audience.

The Briggs family took the first call on the dance floor as they performed Promiscuous Girl by Nelly, but their performance fell short of the judges’ expectations. Next to hit the stage was the Ebenezer family who performed Lose Control by Missy Elliot. The family gave a good account of their dancing prowess and earned the judges’ praises. The Ebute family later blazed the trail with Scream by Usher with a combination of strength and dexterity on stage. At the end of their performance they impressed the audience as they got a standing ovation from Judge Muyiwa Osinaike.

The Ikumonien family performed Sugar by Florida to the delight of the judges with positive commendation from judge Janell Burgess. The Enweribe family came out strong from start to finish with Good Feeling by Florida; they got a rousing ovation from the audience. The Ekado family danced to break your heart by Taio which they did excellently thereby earning the judges commendation that they had truly improved on their dance routine through intense hard work. They also got a rousing ovation from the audience. The Ibrahim family showed why they are one of the favourite families in the academy when they danced to Elevator by Florida. They gave a clean and well choreographed hip-hop dance that earned them accolades from the judges’ and audience.

At the end of the hip-hop performance, the Ibrahim, Enweribe and Ikumonien families became the first three families to gain automatic entry to the grand finale. The Briggs and Ebute families were put up for possible eviction where they will slug it out with the Ebenezer and Ekado families who were put up for possible eviction after the pantomime performance. The four families will battle for the remaining two slots in the grand finale.

Watch out tomorrow see which of these two families will make it to the grand finale on Saturday.
