Africa’s Next Top Model Episode 3: Safira’s runway fail

Africas-Next-Top-Model

In the third episode of Africa’s Next Top Model,  Oluchi announced that the girls should get packing as their next challenge would be a fashion show featuring designerThula Sindi in Johannesburg.

The girls had to get up early and, surprise surprise, Omowunmi was late once again. Fashion show producer Jan Malan was the director of the show.

Safira’s troubles started when they had to pose on a rocky landscape as part of the show. She collapsed on the stage and started crying because she is afraid of heights.

Rhulani
, who had never walked a runway before, needed some assistance and in the end did well for herself. Most of the models feared falling but also hoped to open or close for Thula Sindi. However after the fitting and preparation SA’s Cheandre was chosen as first face andOpeyemi was chosen to close the show.

Oluchi was nervous for the girls but ended up being very proud of them and came to congratulate them after the show.

At the judging, Oluchi was disappointed in Safira and felt that she was disconnected about what was happening around her. Safira confessed that it wasn’t easy to work in the clothes and the shoes were too tight on her. Thula said that Safira had little energy.

Omowunmi was advised to smile as she has strong features while Michaela received rave reviews; Thula said he was proud of her and Josie thought she was really professional.

Ultimately Cheandre was voted as the best performer for this challenge. Thula congratulated her for her high energy and Oluchi felt that no matter what she wore she managed to make the dress look bigger than it was.

Unfortunately Thula felt that Safira couldn’t walk the runway although the judges agreed she takes amazing pics.

The judges placed Roselyn in the bottom two with Safira as they felt that she is beautiful but needs to work on being high fashion and not ‘the girl-next-door’.

Safira was left without a picture and had to pack her bags and go home. Safira was grateful for the opportunity and said she will miss ANTM Africa a lot and even Cape Town’s cold weather.

Don’t miss the next episode of ANTM as the girls have to try sell products on AfricaMagic entertainment on Sundays at 6pm (WAT).
