SPOILER ALERT: The Fixer – Run, Sally, Run

The Fixer

Trust The Fixer to keep the drama and scandals coming with each episode.

We’re filling you in on what happened in Episode 12 of the third season of the series, which airs Mondays at 9:30pm WAT on M-Net.

(Spoiler alert! if you haven’t seen this episode or previous ones continue reading at your own peril.)

Sally drops a bombshell
President Grant learned that vice president Sally Langston could not be trusted when she announced that she was crossing the floor to run against him as an independent candidate and would not resign as vice president, as everyone expected. Her reason for pitting herself against her chief was that “the president’s moral regression knows no boundaries” – so said the woman who stabbed and murdered her husband, Douglas Langston, in cold blood.

A cover-up on Douglas Langston’s murder
A mole, known only as “Publius”, has been leaking news to the press and now that mole has been busted. Who would have guessed that James was the mole? Vanessa, one of the journalists, received a text about Douglas Langston’s autopsy results, which had not been released, and happened to be sealed. After she was blackmailed, the official who signed off that Douglas Langston died of natural causes lied to Abby and Huck and said that Douglas had died from a head trauma after an intoxicated fall, which was the reason vice president Sally Langston sealed the results – to avoid embarrassment.

Rowan Pope threatens revenge

Rowan Pope, Olivia’s father, was fuming after he was replaced as head of B-613. He knows all of President Grant’s dark secrets and he will leave no stone unturned. If Olivia knows what’s good for her she must run – Rowan Pope is bringing the White House down. He threatened that President Grant would not finish his second term.

Olivia questioned Jake about taking up the position offered, but Jake “serves at the pleasure of the president and no one can run the organisation better than he can”.

Also, Olivia has recently discovered that her mother is alive, and in this episode, she found out that it was her mother who had been the villain.

And the new vice president is…

President Grant appointed the current Governor of California, his “brother and friend” Andrew Nichols, to be his running mate, however, Olivia intuitively believed that this was a bad move, but the president’s decision was final. After the announcement, everyone was dismissed from the oval office, including Olivia. Later Olivia asked Nichols why he was still single, his marriage beliefs and sexual orientation. Nichols said he lost out on a chance with someone special long ago so he decided to marry his work instead of settling for someone he didn’t love. Let’s keep watching to find out who this someone special was.

Mellie and Olivia go to lunch

In an attempt to squash the rumours about an affair between Olivia and the president, Mellie invited her to a friendly lunch meeting“. The press was around to witness the event where Mellie discreetly handed Olivia a list of smart, prominent eligible bachelors and told Olivia to pick one from the list so everyone could stop speculating about her alleged affair with the president.

Whose life is Mellie really “fixing” here? And will Olivia heed Mellie’s advice? Tune in to The Fixer on M-Net on Mondays at 9:30pm WAT to get answers to these questions and more.
