Canal+ Afrique bags FIFA World Cup french broadcast rights

Canal+ Afrique has acquired the broadcasting rights for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

It will broadcast the entire competition, on its Canal+ channels, with every single match being aired live.

Furthermore, Canal+ Foot will be fully dedicated to the competition for a month.

Commenting on the acquisition, David Mignot, MD of Canal+ Afrique, said: “This exceptional commitment is illustrative of the desire of Canal+ Afrique to offer the very best quality of broadcasting to African television viewers, particularly for those countries whose teams have qualified.”

Canal+ Afrique already offers viewers a wide range of football including French Ligue 1, Barclays English Premier League, Italian Serie A, Spanish La Liga and the two largest European club competitions – the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.

It will also show the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015.
