Gulder Ultimate Search Season 11 – The Mission Episode 9: Chronicles Of The Cassava Theft

The last has not been heard of the cassava theft; the crime for which the Indigo team comprising Ikenna E and Canon was nearly evicted.

Ikenna E returned to the camp a very bitter person and stated that his actions had somewhat maligned his character, made worse by the fact that he was a medical doctor.

Team Yellow’s Emmanuel joined by Team Orange’s Chinedu mockingly referred to Ikenna E as a smuggler of contraband items, while the rest of the contestants burst out in laughter.

Ikenna E soon got fed up of being jeered at and he dropped the bombshell: Joshua, the partner of Emmanuel, his tormentor-in-chief, was an accomplice and possibly the mastermind of the cassava theft!

Emmanuel was jolted and attributed Joshua’s ‘weight gain’ in the jungle to his escapades. Several versions of Joshua’s culpability sprung up.

Team Orange’s Sandra said Ikenna E approached her and said he was cautioned about a piece of cassava which he dropped; and that a few minutes later, Joshua approached him and said they should go and get more cassava which they can hide and secretly cook later.

Ikenna E corroborated Sandra’s story, stating that Joshua tried luring him into going back for the cassava, even after informing him he had been cautioned.

Chinedu, Sandra’s team mate, said he saw Joshua picking up the cassava and advised him to drop it.

Emmanuel said Joshua picked up the cassava from the ground. After being cautioned to drop it, Emmanuel said his team mate urged them to go back to the stream and pick it up, claiming he knows a way of processing the plant and making a meal out of it. He added that Joshua asked him to bring a knife and bucket to the stream to aid in the preparation of the ‘meal’. Emmanuel said he reneged in bringing the items which got his partner upset.

In his own defense, Joshua said he did not steal the cassava, but picked it up from the bush. He said he was cautioned to drop the cassava at the stream, which he did promptly.

Team Blue’s Noela and Evi are now ahead of the rest of the clans, despite coming fifth in the Puzzle of Protection challenge. For the task, Team members were grouped into fetchers and solvers.

The searchers were instructed to go in search of three bags containing various components of a puzzle, while the solvers were to piece the puzzle together.

The Purple team recorded their first win in Gulder Ultimate Search 11, gaining seven points. Cosy Joe burst into tears, describing the victory as a long awaited one. Team Purple had missed emerging the top team on a couple of occasions.

Team Red emerged second while the Orange team was third, earning six and five points respectively. Indigo, Blue and Yellow teams emerged fourth, fifth and sixth, thus getting four, three and two points. Team Green’s Blessing could not solve the puzzle and the team emerged seventh, earning just one point. Blessing said Team Green is being weighed down by frequent losses.

The Blue Team leads the scoreboard with 31 points, closely followed by Yellow which has 30 points. With 24 points, Team Purple has taken a leap over Team Indigo which has 23 points. Team Red and Orange both have 21 points while Team Green is lagging behind with eight points.

After the task, Chidi the Anchor man, asked the contestants to go to Ebube Dike where they found the Cube with an instruction that they should go back to camp. The contestants were thrilled thinking they had been given food.

They however found logs of wood and knives and they were directed to use the materials to create a totem for themselves.
