Gulder Ultimate Search Season 11: Episode 19 – THE AXING OF THE DOCTOR

The Council of Elders sent word to the contestants to go to ‘Ebube Dike’, which got some of them happy, thinking that food had been provided. Inside The Cube was a scroll asking them to search the area. Many of them were disappointed to find a basket containing paint, brush and tiles with the instruction that they should paint the letters they found on the General’s sword, shield, bow and knife; which they had retrieved during tasks, on the provided tiles. The instruction stated that they were to make a sentence with the letters.

They formed the sentence: HEART OF HUNTERS. Though they missed seeing the inscriptions on the shield because Cosy and the evicted Ikenna I were scared of unveiling it for fear of being reprimanded, the letters they found on the remaining objects helped them guess which of the alphabets were missing.

The day’s challenge was called Octagon Chart and it was geared towards seeking an object of value.

The GUS 11 warriors were to make three trips down the hill and retrieve three pieces of a hexagon, one piece at a time. Upon return to their work stations, they were to read the riddle and make use of the parts of the hexagon to form the answer.

After correctly solving the riddle, they were to pick up a compass, get their coordinates and proceed to search for the object. Upon repossessing the object, the finder was directed to use it to break a calabash. The broken calabash would be an indication that the search was over and they were to make their way back to Base Camp.

Chinedu was the first to solve the puzzle, followed by Otto, Sharon, Noella, Evi, Emmanuel, Samantha and then Cosy.

Ikenna was the last to finish and even though he correctly answered the riddle, he was evicted on the spot. He pleaded for another chance but was asked to leave the jungle in three seconds.

A dejected Ikenna said he assumed that the task would not lead to eviction hence he was not really in a haste to solve the puzzle.

Even though Evi got to the Heart of the Broken Dream before anyone else, she was soon joined by Noela who eventually found the precious item. Noela then broke a calabash with the object and proceeded back to Base Camp.

Ikenna’s eviction from the jungle was different. Contestants were asked to leave, either at the task ground or at the Place of The Talking Drum and they were allowed to return to camp to pack their belongings. In this case, he was not evicted in the presence of the other contestants and his where about was unknown.

Emmanuel said Ikenna had dreamt of being evicted.

Noela opened the sack cloth to reveal an axe which Sandra described as very beautiful axe. The axe had the inscription HEERET.

At the Place of the Talking Drum, Chidi asked Chinedu to burn Ikenna’s totem after sarcastically asking if he had been seen.

He then revealed to them that they passed the innovation phase and were now a part of an elite group – The General’s Army. Each of the remaining contestants was given a specially designed bandana and shirt.

Chidi then informed them to put their hands across their chest and recite the Army General’s creed: “It is a privilege and not a right to be in the great General’s army; I am honoured to have this privilege and I pledge to give everything, sweat and blood, to make sure the Mission is realized.”

Making it to the General’s army gave them a rare privilege once lost: the opportunity to see clues on the shield. Chidi permitted the warriors to take all the items they found during the course of the search back to their camp so that they could make sense of what the inscriptions mean and also work with them.

As Head Warrior, Chinedu was saddled with the responsibility of keeping the weapons safe from invaders, thieves and opposition of all kinds. The warriors were to keep watch over the weapons through the night. They were to return it the next time they were summoned to The Place of the Talking Drum.

Chinedu was to supervise the burning of the old bandanas.
