Why we are loving How To Get Away With Murder showing on Vuzu Amp

When news broke that Shonda Rhimes was getting behind a new drama featuring Viola Davis, we couldn’t contain our excitement!

We were front and centre when How To Get Away With Murder premiered on Vuzu Amp (Mondays at 7pm WAT on DStv channel 114).

Here are some of our best moments from the legal mystery so far – so yes, there are spoilers ahead.

1. Annalise Keating’s fierce quotes
From the moment Viola stepped into the frame, we knew she was not one to mess with.

Welcoming students to a class called “How To Get Away With Murder”, Annalise Keating is a lecturer and an attorney, with great lines.

We had goose bumps after she told a student “Never take a learning opportunity away from another student, no matter how smart you need everyone to think you are.”

2. Meet our new favourite Wes
We loved him in the Harry Potter movies, and even though Alfred Enoch’s Wes Gibbins had a fumbling introduction, we know he’s going to be one of our favourite characters.

3. The love affair
There’s nothing more cringe-worthy than walking in on a couple being intimate, especially if one part of couple is your lecturer – poor Wes!

Not only did Wes get off to a bad start in class, now he’s added this to a possible list of reasons why his lecturer could not like him.

But the cherry on top was surely when he realised the mystery man wasn’t Annalise’s husband and that she didn’t mind putting her friend on the witness stand and discrediting him as a witness and a boss.

4. Missing student
All of campus was talking about the missing student and we didn’t pay that much attention to it.

Well, not until Annalise’s husband mentioned she was one of his students and Annalise retorted: “I bet you the boyfriend did it”.

Now we really want to know all about the missing girl and how her body ended up in a water tank at a sorority house.

5. Annalise’s students
The law students would, of course, do anything to impress their lecturer, but we didn’t think doing something unethical on their first case would be on their to-do list.

Vying for the opportunity to work for Annalise, some of the students pulled out all the stops to get noticed, make a difference to a case and get welcomed to her law firm with open arms.

But now these students have a secret of their own… a dark secret, involving a rug, Annalise’s dead husband and their hands covered in blood.
