MTV Base hosts Nigerian election roundtable
Nigerian music stars 2Face, Sound Sultan, Banky W and Yemi Alade, as well as TV personality Ebuka, activist Omojuwa and journalist/writer Stanley Azuakola have come together at the call of MTV Base to discuss the burning issues facing youth in Nigeria, and to encourage citizen voter participation ahead of the 14 February 2015 elections.
Hosted by Oreka Godis, MTV Base Roundtable: “Choose or Lose”, premieres on Friday 6 February at 6pm WAT on MTV Base & STV.
The show features a stimulating debate from these key opinion formers as they address vital and topical issues in Nigeria. These include education, power, leadership and healthcare.
The Roundtable is part of MTV Base’s special election campaign “Choose or Lose” which encourages the youth to go out and vote for candidates they believe will make the greatest impact in the development of the country as well as their future.
The campaign, which rolls out on TV, digital and social media platforms, features celebrities as well as members of the public as they underline the important message of youth participation in the electoral process. Some of the notable personalities that have already lent their voice to the campaign include: Ben Murray-Bruce, Banky W, Ebuka, Sound Sultan, MTV Shuga star Emmanuel Ikubese, Davido, Falz, Reminisce, Emma Nyra, Solid Star, Oreka andOmalicha.
