BET revamped to BET2!

It’s said that a rose by any other name is still a rose.

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa recently announced that the BET channel – currently on GOtv channel 23 and DStv Channel 135 – will be renamed to BET2.

However, VIMN Africa also assured viewers that they will continue to bring exciting urban culture entertainment designed to reflect, respect, and elevate the rich variety and positive values of black culture the BET channel is known for.

Starting on 2 April, the new 24-hour channel will spot an exciting new logo and name alongside a variety of uplifting and exciting international programming including drama, family-friendly sitcoms, stand-up comedy, documentaries, talk shows, awards specials, reality series, gospel music, and more.

Subscribers can look forward to the channel’s popular drama Being Mary Jane starring Gabrielle Union, and Kevin Hart’s spoof reality hit Real Husbands of Hollywood, reality special Nellyville, starring hip hop artist Nelly and other favourite BET franchises such as The Wendy Williams Show hosted by the chat show queen, the much-anticipated BET Awards,The BET Honors and the BET Hip Hop Awards.

Subscribers will also be treated to gospel music and praise shows from Bobby Jones Gospel, and reality series Sunday Best while classic treats in store include comedy sitcoms Let’s Stay Together and Are We There Yet? and reality dance series Born to Dance with VMA award-winning choreographer Laurianne Gibson.
