Kwesé Free Sports now live in Uganda

Econet Media’s 24-hour sports channel Kwesé Free Sports (KFS) is now live in Uganda. Africa’s first pan-African free-to-air channel boasts impressive international sports content, most of which is exclusive to Econet Media’s Kwesé TV network. The exciting programming line-up includes the Copa del Rey, the Premier League, NBA, NFL, Formula 1 and many other leagues.

KFS is available as a free-to-air (FTA) channel which can be accessed through any free-FTA set-top box.

This is an exciting development for the FTA industry in Uganda which has traditionally focussed on general entertainment programming. There have been few, if any options for sports fans to access premium sports except on pay-tv. This, coupled with its exclusive sports content, is what makes KFS unique in the industry. The launch of KFS in Uganda adds a new and exciting dimension to the local FTA industry, giving viewers more diversity and choice.

Commenting on the channel, Group Chief Executive Officer and President of Econet Media Joseph Hundah said “Kwesé Free sports is the largest FTA network in Africa with over five standalone channels and 15 sub-licensed content blocks across the continent. We want sports to be widely accessible to any and all fans in Africa, even those without pay TV subscriptions.”

“Kwesé is where people can enjoy premium sports from all over the world completely free of charge.”

Kwesé is fast becoming Africa’s a leading source for the latest in sports. Ugandan sports fans have an exciting line-up to look forward to on KFS The channel will showcase the very best in sports entertainment, featuring some familiar faces as well as brand-new programming delivering the best sports shows, latest news, highlights and live action.

KFS promises great entertainment for the whole family. The channel can also be viewed on the Kwesé App which is available for download on both iOS and Android.
