INTERVIEW: Nigerian born Fitness Model, Ayoola talks Living in France, Winning Mister Normandie, Not Doing Nudes, and much more…

Say hello to Ayoola Olatunde. A 22 years old Nigerian Fitness model, actor and student who lives in France. Ayoola was recently crowned as Mister Normandie and his ambition in life is to grow in the industry as an international model and actor.

As a fitness guy, Ayoola says the gym is like his second home.

Hey Ayoola! Would you like to introduce yourself to our readers?
Hello my name is Olatunde Ayoola. I am 22 years old and I live in France but originated from Nigeria. I am a student and also a model.

Talk me through an average day in the life of you?
Well, my life consist of school, work, shooting, having fun with friends.

What institution(s) did you attend and what did you study?
Actually, I am still studying. Studying sales management.

Knowing that you are from an English speaking country like Nigeria, do you also French frequently?
Sure, I speak French frequently. I grew up here.

Tell us more about your modelling/acting side, how were you scouted?
Well it all started in 2013, I actually shot just to see how the modelling side is and then I fell in love. Then I began shooting with photographers and now I do runway shows for brands, I promote brands, I shoot and get paid for it.. ike it’s a great opportunity.

How’s the fitness and modelling industry in France like, compared to that in Nigeria?
I really don’t know Nigeria’s industry so I can’t compare.

Do you feel the modelling industries are doing alot to encourage new models?
Well…. for me they are not all the same. But in France, not really. Because they are quite harsh. They have one kind of style here and that’s what they follow.

You were recently just crowned as Mister Normandie (Regional). What was the first thing that came to your mind when you where announced the winner?
I was like… did she just announce my name or am I dreaming.. lol

You competed at the Mister National this March, how did it feel representing France as a Franco-Nigerian?
One word. It felt great!

What will you say sets you aside from other contestants?
I love being the best in everything I do ?

You are a young entrepreneurial minded guy. How do you balance your personal and professional life?
I try my best. It’s not that easy, I’m not a star but I feel for celebrities at times lol

Looking at your photos online I can tell you love going to the gym, so how often do you go to the gym and how many hours do you spend while you there?
I go to the gym 4 times a week, I spend 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes.

What’s your 3 Dos and Don’t when it comes to modelling?
Wow…

Dos:
1. I am ready to travel anywhere for modelling.
2. Ready to cut hair or slim for modelling ( not too much though lol )
3. Leave my country and base in another if the contract can change my life ?.

Don’t:
1. I don’t do nudes
2. Not ready to go against my religion for anything (Christian)

What defines or makes a good fitness model?
Everyone is different. But for me, start by not being muscular because when we say fitness that means you should be fit and not trying to get muscular by all means.

What aspect surprised you the most once you started as a model?
Lol. Things people can do just to get contracts or signed.

Which brands, models, photographers, clients and designers have you worked with?
Devred

Who do you want to work with that you haven’t yet?
Many! I still have a lot to do

Tell us two things people don’t know about you?
That’s a hard one..

What do you consider your biggest professional success so far?
I’m still young so I still have a lot to do but at the moment it is a video clip I will be taking part in soon. Can’t say much about it for the moment.

Who do you want to work with that you haven’t yet?
Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gauthier, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Diesel… name them all lol

You are active on social media. Do you think its important to be online and if so why?
It is. To keep people following your activities and also bring new people to see how you live.

You are originally from Nigeria, but now mostly live in France. How is that working out for you?
Working well.

What are your must visit travel destinations?
The United States, Canada, Japan.

Name 5 things we should take seriously about our style choices?
Depends on what you like. But street styles and classic styles are best all keeping it simple.

How would you describe your style?
Simply but classy.

What style genre appeals to you the most?
Classic style.

Name your five must have accessories/essentials?
1. Long jacket
2. Suit
3. Balenciaga shoes
4. Belts
5. Wrist watch

What are your favorite fashion trends?
Magic fox style is great, Di Mariano, and some few styles on Instagram

What is your favorite dish?
Yam and egg.

What songs are currently on your playlist?
Usher, Tory Lanez, Bryson Tiller.

Apart from school, fitness, and modelling, what other projects are you currently working on?
A show in Taiwan..

Seeing you’re doing your dreams, what advice can you give others to pursue their dreams?
No one should tell you you can’t. It takes time, sometimes money but whatever you should go for it if you really want it! How bad do you want it.

Any specific plans for the future?
Would love to be an international model and an actor like Will Smith.
