Cheddar Debuts Second Network Cheddar Big News

Cheddar Debuts Second Network Cheddar Big News

Cheddar, the leading post cable network, today first broadcast Cheddar Big News, its new, general news network focused on headlines and top stories. It premiered on YouTube TV with planned launches on Sling TV and Philo in this second quarter of 2018. The Coca-Cola Company has signed to be the first integrated sponsor for the network.

Cheddar Big News is a fresh take on headline news and positive stories, covering top national and international news stories with the feel of local news. It will include the latest trends and updates in politics, entertainment, travel, food, health, science, sports, and weather live from Cheddar’s studios in New York and Los Angeles with an emphasis on nothing-but-the-facts reporting.

“We cover the big political stories of the day but don’t torture viewers with circular panels of supposed ‘expert political analysts’,” said Jon Steinberg, Founder and CEO of Cheddar, “We move on to ‘moose on the loose’, human interest stories, weather, science, sports, and the topics of the day. It’s apolitical. It’s the cable news product that young people want. We now have the full suite news offering with a news network and a business news network.”

The Coca-Cola Company is the first sponsor of Cheddar Big News and Cheddar’s first consumer packaged goods partner. As an integrated part of programming, Cheddar Big News will feature the local nature of The Coca-Cola Company’s business system across America. The segments will highlight unique projects taking place in local communities, as well as the Company’s growing portfolio of brands and products from teas and coffees to enhanced waters to premium juices and dairy drinks.

“We’re excited about this new programming platform because it can bring to life on a national stage good and interesting things that are happening in local communities across our country,” said Caren Pasquale-Seckler, VP of Social Commitment at The Coca-Cola Company. “That’s a fit for our company’s brand, which is proudly local everywhere.”

Cheddar Big News content partners include:

● AccuWeather for weather

● Stadium for sports

● VSiN for sports

● FanSided for sports

“Cheddar Big News is the next iteration of live-linear news content,” said Liam Roecklein, Vice President of Content at Cheddar. “We plan on covering all the headlines missing from mainstream outlets. The network is completely focused on cord-cutters, cord-shavers, and cord-nevers who want to inform themselves about the world.”
