A chance encounter at her parents’ rundown hotel brings new hope, followed by disappointment, and she flees back to the UK. The Royal Hibiscus Hotel made its international debut at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September 2017. It was the only Nigerian movie and one of just three African features selected for the Contemporary World Cinema category, which spotlights forty-eight of the best new films worldwide.
