Christian Purefoy leaves CNN International; starts Battabox in Lagos

Christian Purefoy has left CNN International where he was the 24 hour news channel’s West Africa correspondent based in Lagos, Nigeria. He now runs a Lagos based site (http://www.battabox.com/) a citizen journalism website were you get News, Entertainment, and upload videos/photos.

Christian Purefoy worked for CNN International for the past 7 years since he joined in 2005. Christian Purefoy has anchored programmes like CNN African voices which has featured many nigerian celebrities like Genevieve Nnaji, Asa, Cobhams Asuquo , Pastor Adeboye and many more. He also covered Nigeria elections in 2011 all over Lagos and some other parts of the country.

Vladimir Duthiers is currently covering Nigeria for CNN International. Vladimir Duthiers works for Anderson Cooper 360° as a production assistant and CNN journalist. He was among the first journalists to arrive in Haiti to cover the devastating January 2010 earthquake. For a month, Duthiers reported and translated for Anderson Cooper, whose coverage of the earthquake was nominated for an Emmy this year. He returned to Haiti 9 months later to independently report on an American missionary who had sexually abused street orphans for 10 years. That report aired on AC360° in December. Duthiers also worked on the show Amanpour. anchored by Emmy-award winning journalist Christiane Amanpour.
