NEW ON TV: Join BBC World News for a weekend of Diamond Jubilee celebrations!

To mark 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign over the UK and as Head of the Commonwealth, BBC World News will be bringing audiences a special series of programmes and live events as people in Britain takes part in three days of national celebrations.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to gather in London for the Diamond Jubilee weekend, and BBC World News will be there throughout with live coverage of the main events from Sunday 3 June to Tuesday 5 June with highlights that will include:

Sunday 3rd June 13:00 – 16:00 GMT
Live coverage of The Diamond Jubilee Thames Pageant. For the first time in 350 years, a flotilla of 1000 boats will sail down the river Thames from Battersea to Tower Bridge in celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s 60 year reign.

Monday 4th June 21:00-22:00 GMT
A special programme from BBC World News marking the 60th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II.

Tuesday 5th June 09:00-12:00 GMT
Live coverage of the final day of Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. To mark this special occasion The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will attend a National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral.

Tuesday 5th June 13:00-14:00 GMT
The Diamond Jubilee celebrations continue with a stunning display of pomp and pageantry. Senior members of the Royal Family will travel by carriage procession from the Palace of Westminster to Buckingham Palace to mark sixty years of The Queen’s reign.
