Announcing the new Nokia Lumia 820 and 920
These are exciting times for Windows Phone. In June they showed the first glimpses of Windows Phone 8, the most ambitious release ever. Then Samsung last week unveiled its first Windows Phone 8 device, the sleek ATIV S.
Today, everyone was glued to their screens watching Nokia show off its two gorgeous next-generation Lumias with some great accessories and apps at their press event in New York City. Scroll down (as if you haven’t already) and look at just how stunning these new phones are.
As Steve Ballmer noted on stage today, this year is shaping up to be something historic for all of Microsoft. Windows Phone 8 is part of a reimagined Windows, with a unified experience spanning phones, tablets and PCs. Whether you’re looking at Windows 8 or Windows Phone 8, you’ll experience a unique look and feel with Live Tiles and will have the same built-in access to Microsoft cloud services like SkyDrive and Xbox Music.
While today’s event is about Nokia’s beautiful new phones, you’ll hear much more about Windows Phone 8 later this year—keep your eyes here and at windowsphone.com.
The Lumia 920 (above) features a 4.5” PureMotion HD+ display (the world’s brightest, fastest, and most sensitive touchscreen) as well as an integrated Qi battery so users can charge wirelessly. The Lumia 820 (below) features a 4.3” OLED Wide Video Graphics Array (WVGA) display, a 1.5 GHz Dual Core Snapdragon processor, and comes in an array of colors.
