Register now to participate, as Nigerian Idol Season 3 is back!

Nigerian Idol season III formally launched on 19th September at a press conference with Illrymz anchoring the event and also announcing his involvement on the show as the presenter on the new season.

It was such an interesting event with the Sponsors renewing their commitments to the show and ensuring it remains top rated and the best reality format in Nigeria.

At the conference, the Managing Director of OMG, Rotimi Pedro, says, “The group puts Nigeria on the world map again”, as the show which was formally aired in 11 countries before would be aired in three more, totaling fourteen countries including Canada, the prize sum have been increased from N15m to N20m from the previous season and the audition cities have been increased from four to five.

A new development about the show was announced by the chief commercial official of Etisalat, Mr Wael Ammar. He explained that for the first time ever, Nigerian Idol would have a mobile application where users could go and download content such as videos and pictures for free on their mobile devices.  He also said that Etisalat remains committed to giving the Nigerian youth a wonderful experience. There were performances from Mercy, Naomi, Joe Blue and Stephen.

Since it is easy for the press to write and criticize the contestants on the show, it was a time for them to take the heat and know just how it feels to be on the show. A ‘Press Idol’ competition was organized with only journalists in attendance as participants. At the end of it all, Daniel Oramali of Hit on TV won the sum of $1,000 for his brilliant and scintillating performance of Joe’s ‘No one’, Efe Tommy and Gbenga Shaba also won $500 and $200 for coming 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The theme for this year’s show is “Be the voice of tomorrow” and the maiden broadcast for season III is scheduled for the 16th of December.

Register to participate on the show this season by filling and submitting the audition form which is already available on the Nigerian Idol website.
