The result show for the first semifinal of Nigeria’s Got Talent aired with fans and supporters hoping their votes were just enough to put their favourite in the finals. As a reminder of how the voting works, the contestant with the highest number of votes from the public gets automatic qualification to the finals while the acts with the second and third highest votes face the judges who will in turn exercise their voting powers to save one of the two acts.

To the business at hand, Andre our anchor got the verified result from a representative of Alexander Forbes, a leading counting firm and revealed who got the highest votes thanks to your votes. Impulse, the all-male acapella group were mentioned as the act with the highest votes. Lil P the rapper and Dr. Bariyu the ventriloquist were the two acts with the second and third highest votes. Andre went straight to the judges and handed over the task of choosing between Lil P and Dr. Bariyu. Dan chose to save Dr. Bariyu because he felt he had more to offer. Yibo on the other hand praised Lil P for his confidence and chose him. It all boiled down to Kate. One could tell this was a tough decision for her to make as she sighed and fidgeted. Kate finally gathered strength and chose to save Dr.Bariyu.
