Samsung Galaxy S5 Goes on Sale in Nigeria
After weeks of expectation, rave-making smartphone and latest gadget in Samsung’s premium Galaxy S series, the Galaxy S5, officially went on sale in Nigeria on Thursday, along with the rest of the world.
The Galaxy S5 hit the stands of all authorized Samsung partner stores nationwide and participating telecom operators.
The newest members of the company’s wearable device line, the Gear 2 and Gear Fit, will be available from Monday.
Mr. Emmanouil Revmatas, Samsung’s director of Information Technology and Mobile, said that a formal introduction of the new devices to the West African market has been scheduled to hold at the Intercontinental Hotel, Lagos on Wednesday, April 16, 2014.
A special Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) warranty cover on the Galaxy S5 will also be announced by Samsung at the launch.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core processor and boasts a 5.1-inch super AMOLED display.
It features an upgraded 16-megapixel camera, new fitness tracking features, a heart rate scanner, an ultra – power saving mode and is dust and water (IP67) resistant.
The highlight of the smartphone is a new fingerprint scanner, which is integrated with the device’s home button and provides consumers with a safe, biometric screen-locking feature.
As a special promo, Samsung is providing customers who redeem their pre-order of the Galaxy S5 smartphone with a free S-View cover.
