StarTimes expands reach to 32 Nigerian states

Chinese pay-TV operator, StarTimes, announced that its partnership with the Nigerian Television Authority has spread the digital broadcast signal to 32 states of the federation.

“The company would soon be taking the signal to 16 cities across the country, increasing the digital television coverage of Nigeria to 80%,” said Joshua Wang, MD, StarTimes Nigeria.

Earlier this month, Nigerian city, Jos, became the first city in the country to go fully digital, following which, the Nigerian state governments were asked to prepare for a full digital migration on October 31, 2014.
