2015 begins on an electrifying note as AfricaMagic launches new and exciting shows in January for its viewers across Africa and the rest of the world. 

Hotel Majestic airs Weekdays on AfricaMagic Showcase (DStv Channel 151) at 9pm WAT

We kick start the year with a first of its kind telenovella series, Hotel Majestic, which airs weekdays on AfricaMagic Showcase.

Hotel majestic tells the intriguing tale of the Emeni family as they fight within themselves and with the outside world to protect a hotel that has been in their family for decades. The Hotel, which is situated in a beautiful and flawless riverside community in Nigeria, has been in the family since the late 1800’s and is currently run by two great- great grandchildren of the original owner.  Hotel Majestic boasts a stellar cast including: Sadiq Daba, Oge Okoye, Gloria Young, Anne Njemanze, Bukky Ajayi and AMVCA nominee Ivie Okujaye.

The Calabash airs Mondays and Tuesdays on AfricaMagic Showcase (Dstv Channel 151) at 9:30pm WAT

Also new in January is The Calabash, a drama series exclusive to Africamagic Showcase (Dstv Channel 151). The show airs Mondays and Tuesdays  and features Alexandra Nwokedi, Colette Nwadike, Charles Ukpong, and Christopher Okagbue amongst many other exciting names. The Calabash revolves around an ailing bank so desperate to avoid liquidation that its management employs unscrupulous measures to force employees to deliver on ridiculous targets set for them.

V Republic airs Wednesdays on AfricaMagic Showcase (Dstv Channel 151) at 9:30pm WAT

Another exciting show to watch out for is V Republic. Premiering on Wednesday, the 7th of January, 2015 on AfricaMagic Showcase, V Republic tells the story of four beautiful ladies – a lawyer and her personal assistant in a law firm, an upcoming actress and a business woman. The show follows and brings to life the struggles, chaos, drama, suspense and intrigue surrounding each individual lady in their professional and personal lives. The show’s cast includes Joselyn Dumas, Jasmine Baroudi, Christabel Ekeh, Nikki Samonas, Senanu Gbedawo, James Gardiner, and Anthony Nkwochsa amongst many others.

V Republic airs on Wednesdays at 9:30pm WAT on AfricaMagic Showcase (DStv Channel 151).

Poisoned Bait airs Thursdays on AfricaMagic Showcase (Dstv Channel 151) at 9:30pm WAT

Also brand new to Africa Magic is Poisoned Bait, an exciting tale of deceit, lies, revenge and mayhem. Premiering on Thursday, the 8thof January on AfricaMagic Showcase, this drama series delves into the life of Ariel Morrison, a literary manager whose life is thrown into disarray when her ex-boyfriend returns to Ghana on the day of her wedding.

The cast of this exciting show includes Ama K. Abebrese, Marie Humbert, Mary Remmy, Adjetey Anan and many more.

Poisoned Bait airs Thursdays on AfricaMagic Showcase (DStv Channel 151) at 9:30pm WAT.

 

Losing Control airs Fridays on AfricaMagic Showcase (DStv Channel 151) at 9:30pm WAT

Premiering Friday, the 9th of January at 9:30pm WAT on AfricaMagic Showcase (DStv Channel 151) is Losing Control. An intriguing tale of life, love and social imbalances, this show takes us through the life of an out of work woman who decides to disguise herself as a man to deceitfully gain employment, only to find herself entangled in a web of unrequited love and murder.

With a cast that includes Joseph Benjamin, Mary Remmy, Susan Peters, Michael Godson, Mary Lazarus, Venita Akpofure and other spectacular actors, Losing Control is a must watch.

Losing Control airs every Friday at 9:30pm WAT on AfricaMagic Showcase (DStv Channel 151).
