BRITISH PHONE MAKER Kazam has followed in the footsteps of LG with the unveiling of a slew of products ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC).

Seemingly looking to get one up on its rival, Kazam has added six new models to its Android-powered Trooper smartphone line-up, the Trooper 445L, 440L, 450, 451, 450L and 455.

The Trooper 445L (above) is the stand-out device in the line-up, according to the company, with a 4.5in 480×800 screen, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.4 Kitkat, a 1,980mAh battery and 8GB internal storage, expandable to 128GB via the handset’s microSD slot.

Michael Coombes, Kazam CEO, commented: “As a dedicated European mobile brand, Kazam has responded to the demand for choice at every level. Today’s announcement further demonstrates our commitment to the market, innovating in areas often overlooked.”

Kazam isn’t all about Android. The firm unveiled two Windows Phone-powered smartphones on Tuesday, the Kazam Thunder 450W and 450WL.

Much like the firm’s Android device line-up, these are both mid-range devices with 5in 720×1280 displays, Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.1 operating system and 1.2GHz quad-core processors.

The Thunder 450W and 450WL also come with 8GB internal storage expandable by an additional 32GB, dual 8MP and 2MP cameras and 2,220mAh and 2,500mAh batteries respectively.

Surely Kazam hasn’t got more up its sleeve, you cry? Well, it has, having also added three Windows-powered tablets to its rapidly expanding portfolio.

The Kazam L7, L8 and L10 – perhaps unsurprisingly – come with 7in, 8in and 10in screens respectively.

All three tablets come with Intel Bay Trail chips and Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 operating system. The Kazam L7 will be available with 16GB included storage, the Kazam L8 with 16GB or 32GB, and the Kazam L10 with 32GB, with additional room to expand via microSD.

Peter Han, VP of worldwide marketing at Microsoft’s OEM division, said: “These new Windows tablets and phones will diversify Kazam’s Windows offerings across Europe and provide customers with a consistent yet personalised experience across devices.”

All of Kazam’s new products will be available across Europe later this year. No pricing details have yet been announced.
