Viasat Life to debut in Africa on StarTimes and Zuku

Viasat World will launch its first-ever female skewing entertainment channel Viasat Life in Africa on January 2, 2017.

The service, which is aimed at yound families with kids and adults aged 25 to 49, will make its debut on StarTimes, Wanachi Group’s triple-play platform Zuku and Intelvision. The channel will debut with key titles such as Wake Up Call with Dwayne Johnson, Cooking for Real, Mary Mary and Bridezilla. Other shows include House of Curves, I Do Over, Bye Felicia! and The Three Day Nanny. The new lifestyle channel features exclusive premieres of self-improvement-themed programming and factual-entertainment programming from across the globe.

Commenting on the development, Karin Heijink, VP of products and channels, Viasat World, said: “We are extremely excited about launching Viasat life on StarTimes, it represents a thrilling new chapter in our development as a global broadcaster.

“With its aspirational style of programming, featuring big names from the worlds of food, fashion, movies and music, we believe Viasat Life will resonate with audiences across Africa.”

Viasat Life will join Viasat World’s portfolio of flagship channels Viasat Explore, Viasat History and Viasat Nature, which are already broadcast on StarTimes.
