Eamonn Holmes Signs New Three Year Deal as Host of Sky News Sunrise
Sky News has announced that Sunrise anchor, Eamonn Holmes, will continue to host his breakfast show in a three-year deal.
Since Eamonn joined Sky News in 2005, Sunrise has seen viewing figures grow by 140% as well as being the most popular show on Sky News.
In the last year Eamonn and his team – presenter Charlotte Hawkins, sports presenter Jacquie Beltrao and weather reporters Isobel Lang and Nazaneen Ghaffar – have seen their audience grow by 21%.
John Ryley, Head of Sky News, said: ‘Eamonn and his Sunrise team are a favourite with our viewers. The show has consistently high ratings and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching it develop over the last six years. Eamonn is a true pro and will continue to present Sunrise with wit and flair.’
Eamonn commented: ‘I’ve had a really fulfilling six years at Sky News. I have a tremendous team on Sunrise and we know from our audience feedback that people enjoy starting their day with the way we deliver the news. The announcement has ended speculation that Holmes was considering a return to ITV’s morning sofa, with the imminent departure of current hosts, Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley expected to be announced
