FremantleMedia Enterprises wrestles with WWE

WWE has signed a distribution deal with FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) that will see its content accessed digitally for the first time across EMEA.

The agreement, which also includes DVD and Blu-ray, will see WWE content introduced to platforms where fans can buy or rent digital downloads.

Titles will include Night of Champions 2012, Hell in a Cell 2012, Top 100 Raw Moments and WrestleMania 29.

WWE’s sports entertainment programming is broadcast in more than 145 countries and 30 languages around the world, reaching more than 600 million homes.

FME previously signed a deal with Bellator Fighting Championships, another sports entertainment producer, to distribute its programming and has sent it worldwide, with sales to Israel, Norway and Korea.

Asuquo Eton founded talkmediaafrica.com, now one of the most visited TV, music, tech and features website, in 2011. He is also a social media analyst, media and entertainment consultant.
